Have you got questions about studying Pre-PhD at our International Study Centre? Here are some answers to common questions.

What are the entry requirements?

If you would like to study the Pre-PhD programme at Study Group International Study Centre, you will need to meet our English language and academic entry requirements.

Do I need a visa to study in the UK?

You may need a Student visa to study in the UK. In order to apply for your visa, you must:

  • First, apply for the Pre-PhD programme at the International Study Centre and receive an offer.
  • Next, you must send the requested documents to be checked by the Admissions team or your Student Enrolment Advisor.
  • You will then pay a deposit and CAS payment.
  • Your CAS will be issued. This means you can apply for your visa.
  • You may be invited to a credibility interview.
  • You will be contacted by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regarding the outcome of your visa application.

When should I apply for a visa?

You can apply for your Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies up to six months before the start date of your programme (or three months if you are already in the UK). You can then apply for your visa. Make sure to start your application early, so there is enough time for it to be processed before you need to travel to the UK.

How much does it cost to study a Pre-PhD programme?

When considering studying in the UK, you need to consider the tuition fees as well as your living costs.

What accommodation is available?

There are lots of different accommodation options in Brighton and the surrounding area. We always recommend organising accommodation as early as possible due to high demand.
